Reducing fear in pets at the vets
Dr. Karolina Westlund, ILLIS ABC Animal Behaviour Consulting
Many pet owners avoid taking their pets to the vets, as their animals typically become fearful, anxious and stressed. In this lecture, I will discuss techniques that can help alleviate and prevent those types of adverse emotional reactions. Proper planning, structuring and handling with the purpose of diminishing fear has effects on such diverse variables as stress-related responses in the animal, pet owner satisfaction, workplace safety, accuracy of diagnosis, job satisfaction and gross revenue and client visits.
